Post Procedure Care

Aftercare Information

 EYELINER

  • Expect light to moderate swelling and redness in and around treated area.
  • For Lash Enhancement Do Not use any aftercare cream or ointment.  Avoid makeup for 7 days.
  • For Upper & Lower Eyeliner use a very thin amount of A & D Ointment blot off excess with a clean tissue for 7 days.

  1. If there is any swelling, apply a cool pack (NOT ICE) to the area.
  2. Keep the area clean, but do NOT wash with soap for 5 to 7 days.
  3. Do NOT apply makeup to the tattooed area for at least 5 to 7 days.
  4. You must use NEW mascara to avoid contamination.

EYEBROWS

  • Expect slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness, for 1 to 2 days following your procedure.  Keep treated area lightly glossed with A & D Ointment for 7 days. Wash with cold water and pat dry.
  • Use a very thin amount of A & D Ointment aftercare blot off excess with a clean tissue for 7 days.
  • Keep area clean, but do not wash with soap for 5 to 7 days.  By the 4th day you may cleanse using a very gentle soap (Cetaphil Cleanser).  Do not rub the area vigorously when washing your face for at least 10 days.
  • Do not try to remove the excess color with soap.  This color will flake and fade to a beautiful, natural color if left undisturbed.

LIP LINER / LIP COLOR
Expect moderate swelling, usually 1 to 2 days following the procedure.  Applying a cool pack for the first 2 hours is most important, and should be continued throughout the day.  Wash with cold water and pat dry. Keep moist with A & D Ointment for the next 7 days, and then switch to lip balm or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or greater, as the sun tends to fade lip color quickly.

After the procedure the lips will appear to have too much color.  After 3 to 4 days, the epidermis sloughs off. It will appear you have lost all color; however, when your lips have healed completely, the dermal layer will gradually become darker.  Two applications may be required to achieve the desired results. It is not uncommon to lose up to 70% of the color after the first application.

REMEMBER FOR ALL PROCEDURES:

  • DO NOT use Retin A or Glycolic Acids while healing
  • DO NOT use peroxide or Neosporin on ANY areas.
  • DO NOT scrub or pick at treated areas.
  • DO NOT expose area to sun or tanning bed.
  • DO NOT dye or tweeze eyebrows one week before and after procedure.
  • AVOID facials, swimming and whirlpools for at least 5 days.
  • NO vigorous exercise or sweating for 24 hours

EYELINER (Day & Effects)
Day 1:    Swollen, like you have been crying, with a heavier eye makeup look.

Day 2:    Swollen, usually for only a few hours after waking up, and the heavier eye makeup look continuing.

Day 3:    Swelling decreases with a tight feeling.  The pigment begins to lift away from the skin.

Day 4:    There is a slight “pinching” feeling.  Some itching is normal as the skin begins to flake.  DO NOT PICK AT IT.

Day 5:    Blinking movement of the eye usually remove all of the pigment be this day. Color is somewhat grayish and it will take a few more days to clarify to your full color.

EYEBROWS (Day & Effects)
Day 1 & 2:  The eyebrows are approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in width than when when fully healed.  Your skin is red under the pigment, which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker.  There is some swelling, although difficult to actually see due to the  thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area.  This will subside. Exfoliation, which will begin in  a few days, will cause excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a narrower appearance will result.  New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows.  Don’t be concerned your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire.  This is all part of the process.

Day 3:    Eyebrows start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture.  Exfoliation begins.

Day 4:    The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first.

Day 5:    Color finishes flaking off and appears softer and grayer for a few days until the color clarifies.

LIPS (Day & Effects)
Day 1:    Swelling, tender, heavy thick lipstick look with an orange/brick color effect.

Day 2:    Slight swelling, intense color.

Day 3:    Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation with an orange color effect.

Day 4:    Exfoliation begins, very chapped lips.  Sloughing off, peeling of dry skin with pigment.

Day 5:    Very chapped, almost finished with first chapping stage.  Appears like most of the color has sloughed off.

Day 6:    A soft color begins to appear.

Day 7 to 13:  Lip color disappears and the “frosty” (2nd chapping stage) begins as a whitish/gray haze on the lips.

Day 14:   Color “blooms” from within more and more each day, as the new skin heals completely.

Day 21:   Healing is now complete.  The color you see is the color you have.  Your lips will remain a bit dry for a month or two.  Use a good lip balm to assist them in returning to normal, with full color.
